Sr. Classification Analyst
BB will support the Global classification team for both the US and APAC Harmonized tariff schedule and complete translation to other countries supported. This will consist of the full 10-digit numbers. This will consist of review technical data (data elements) when available and classifying to the appropriate HTS. Blue Badge will gather technical data as part of the research. The technical information would be for Customs classification (harmonized tariff schedule) purposes. Information needs to be precise to clear vendor shipments for Import purposes.
Additional Skills and or education:
Fluent in English a must: This is a critical requirement :
1. English reading and writing skills require the ability to comprehend very technical materials covering regulations and product/equipment knowledge
Research and classify parts to ensure the highest possible level of accuracy, as required by U.S. and other country Customs compliance regulations (APAC ).
Extensive understanding of Explanatory Notes, General Rules of Interpretation, vendor data, and any other relevant information available as necessary to support classification determinations.
Thoroughly document audit trail to substantiate the classification determination and rationale used in so doing
Work with existing team to ensure all projects and daily workload are being completed and escalated to the supervisor as needed
Excellent on-line research skills
Years of experience required for this positions:
HTS classification for the last 3 to 5 years,
Candidate should not have been away from HTS classification for more than 1 year
