A typical day starts with short discussions with co-workers on outstanding workload and deliverables. Work would be re-organized among co-worker to keep up with timeline of deliverables, if needed.
This follows with reviewing emails to address important client concerns and expectation before administrative matters are looked into. Some routine tasks generally will be delegated to junior or senior co-workers, if needed.
Most client related issues are resolved via telephone calls or by conference calls. Some critical decisions would require discussions with the senior management or technical leadership to get their buy-in before the decisions are communicated to clients or stakeholders.
Discussions with the senior management and the technical leadership really gives an opportunity to learn the negotiation and convincing skills. This ensures quality decisions are made in the interest of clients before they are communicated to them.
Work becomes hard when we are faced with projects that are pressing, requires long working hours or faced with challenges from other stakeholders. It becomes a totally enjoyable experience when the clients and management appreciates our input and accepts the solutions we propose in managing or mitigate project related challenges.
